A.H. Nasution Behind the Dissolution of the House of Representatives

After failing to dissolve Parliament in 1952, A.H. Nasution supported the dissolution of the House of Representatives formed after the 1955 elections in 1959.

His response to protesters' demands some time ago in August 2025, “Those who demand the dissolution of the House of Representatives are the most foolish people in the world,” sparked public outrage, followed by riots. Sahroni ultimately bore the consequences, as his home was stormed by a mob and his belongings were looted, leading to his party's decision to remove him from the House of Representatives.
