The Petamburan Public Cemetery in Central Jakarta is quite exceptional. Despite being a public cemetery, Petamburan is reserved for non-Muslim residents of Jakarta. It is no surprise that many non-native people have been buried in Petamburan since colonial times.
From Chinese, Japanese, to Europeans, including Jewish graves, each has its own burial block. There is also the grandest mausoleum in Southeast Asia here. The mausoleum is the burial place of Oen Giok Khow, a wealthy landlord in Batavia.
